Polina Pidtsan has meticulously crafted an avant-garde, technologically advanced interior in the Knightsbridge Private Park residential complex situated in Khamovniki. Spanning an impressive 160 sq. meters, this loft, envisioned for a single dweller, radiates a fusion of innovation and elegance. The space effortlessly blends a piano, art pieces, and interior elements against a backdrop of opulence. Notably, the apartment boasts a private patio, while the bedroom features an authentic fireplace, adding a touch of charm and warmth.
The architectural framework of the house laid the groundwork for an unparalleled design journey. With expansive windows and distinctive curved openings, a unique ambiance emerged, flooding the space with natural light and fostering an airy atmosphere.
"Through innovative redevelopment, we reimagined this space into a suite within the apartment complex. Upon entering through grand swinging doors, one steps into the living room adorned with a Valcucine kitchen and a cozy breakfast nook by the window. Additionally, an open lounge area housing a grand piano," shares Polina. Post-redevelopment, the loft now comprises a foyer, bedroom, living area, bathroom, guest restroom, laundry, and two walk-in closets. "We were fortunate to have a ceiling height of 3.6 meters. To optimize this, we proposed a raised platform at the entrance."
Distinctive curved openings, a rare feature in apartments, serve as a focal point in the dining area, expertly emphasized by Polina Pidtsan. Adjacent to this is the kitchen-living space, demarcated by an island and ceiling design. Despite their proximity, the kitchen area remains subtly concealed, devoid of upper cabinets, with neatly concealed shelves behind automatic doors, maintaining visual cleanliness.
The bedroom layout posed a challenge due to its unconventional shape. To ensure an optimal viewing experience for bedtime movies, Polina ingeniously integrated the television into the bedframe - a mechanism smoothly gliding out from the console opposite the bed. Transitioning from the bedroom with its genuine fireplace leads to a walk-in closet featuring a window and an exquisite bathroom.
In this project, nearly all the furniture was meticulously crafted based on the designer's intricate sketches. The hallway cabinet and TV stand, crafted from koto veneer, cleverly conceal a mechanism for the television to seamlessly emerge. Polina's design showcases selenite inserts and bronze profiles, adding a touch of luxury to functionality.
"In the décor, we opted for a departure from dark wood. The light door model, specially conceptualized for this project, is now part of the Polina Pidtsan Maison collection. Delving into fabric choices, I leaned towards light hues. Embracing boucle, linen, and other exquisite fabrics, we curated a palette of sophistication."
"The client's tech-savvy inclination inspired us to incorporate a 'smart' home with extensive features - sliding TV panels, ambient music, and a kitchen equipped with an electronic lifting system that elegantly closes with a wave of the hand. I take immense pride in the design process, transforming the entire apartment and suffusing each room with abundant natural light."
