Evgenia Poleshchuk, an accomplished interior designer, undertook the task of orchestrating the interior design of a three-story townhouse occupying a footprint of 96 square meters. This townhouse is situated within the idyllic surroundings of Cambridge Cottage Village, strategically positioned near Moscow. Staying true to its nomenclature, the village exudes an enchanting ambiance, distinguished by its picturesque scenery and an array of charming English-style red brick residences.

"I acquired this townhouse as an investment property," the designer explains. "My decisions were influenced by my personal aesthetic preferences, with the primary constraints being budget limitations and the modest size of the house, where each floor measures approximately 32 square meters. The townhouse was initially devoid of essential utilities, necessitating their installation. Moreover, the absence of a third floor prompted the construction of ceilings, stairs, utility connections, interior partition walls, and the overall finishing work. The entire renovation project spanned approximately ten months."

"My aspiration was to craft a warm and artistic residence tailored for like-minded creative individuals who resonate with my vision. During that particular year when I conceptualized the interior, I embarked on extensive travels to Italy and France, where I frequented local flea markets. It was there that I sourced the majority of the lamps and decorative items that now adorn the space."

"Given the limited square footage, significant structural alterations were not feasible. Our approach involved creating self-contained living spaces to ensure that family members could enjoy their privacy, bearing in mind that this is a house rather than an apartment. This allowed us to make the most of the vertical space by dispersing functions across the various floors, with each floor thoughtfully equipped with dedicated storage and private bathroom facilities."

"Adorning the living room is a cherished heirloom—a floor mirror passed down from my great-grandfather's apartment. Its distinctive non-Soviet design has captivated me since childhood. My grandfather, a writer and a connoisseur of aesthetics, possessed a trove of beautiful and intriguing artifacts. Alongside the mirror, a marble owl, a silk carpet, and a substantial antique sideboard gracefully found their way into my interior. Notably, among these treasures, only the mirror endured four relocations before ultimately residing in this townhouse, where it discovered its perfect niche between the windows."

"Given the townhouse's limited dimensions, I aimed to cultivate an intimate boudoir ambiance. The choice of pink for the walls, in conjunction with the use of velvet and arches, injects a sense of playfulness, humor, and comfort into an otherwise minimalist interior. To instill a feeling of spaciousness and tranquility on the second and third floors dedicated to the bedrooms, a predominantly blue color palette was adopted. Accents of burgundy, blue, and an unexpected touch of green were artfully incorporated to infuse depth and vibrancy into the overall aesthetic."

"Embracing decorative matte plaster with an antiquated patina effect on the walls, along with a palette of warm, vibrant colors, arched details, embellished ceilings, wooden accents, and exposed beams, collectively coalesce to craft a welcoming, rustic ambiance evoking the comforts of a countryside abode. A portion of the furnishings was custom-crafted, while others were sourced from mass-market retailers. Additionally, I scoured Avito for some pieces and personally imported select items from Italian flea markets."

"I take immense pride in the transformation of this space. The unique color scheme, the profusion of artworks, and an array of vintage items have all contributed to its distinctive character. The townhouse is adorned with an extensive collection of artworks created by my talented artist brother and his associates, which I have meticulously gathered over the years."
